Project Superintendent

Essential Duties

  • Provides leadership, direction, and management of general construction operations on small, mid-size, and large projects.
  • Provides daily supervision of safety, tasks, production, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Plans, coordinates, and directs efficient use of all resources, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Performs skilled labor dependent on job specific tasks and assignments.
  • Senior Project Superintendents lead project teams on mid-size and large projects, as well as provide leadership, mentorship, and development of Hamilton Stern field employees.

Project Foreman

Essential Duties

  • Performs skilled labor on most projects as needed.
  • Conducts punch-list and quality control programs; inspects and corrects work for deficiencies.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and management of general construction operations on small to mid-size projects, and/or assists Superintendent on larger projects.
  • Provides daily supervision of safety, tasks, production, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Plans, coordinates, and directs efficient use of all resources, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Carpenter

Essential Duties

  • Assists team in construction, repairs, and installation.
  • Performs basic hand tool use.
  • Performs basic demolition.
  • Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Loads and unloads material; checks for quality control.
  • Conducts job site cleanup.

Project Manager

Essential Duties

  • Manages general operations of construction projects.
  • Generates subcontracts, tracks and issues change orders, creates and monitors schedule, and provides close-out documentation.
  • Provides daily communication of budget, change orders, schedule, and quality control with all project partners.
  • Provides supervision of safety, tasks, schedule, and quality control during job site visits.

Project Administrator

Essential Duties

  • Assists Project Managers with scheduling meetings, creating, completing, and proofing documents, and contacting and coordinating vendors, subcontractors, and project team.
  • Oversees subcontractor insurance compliance.
  • Assists project team with project start up and organization.
  • Assists Project Managers with the preparation of project estimates.
  • Works with Project Managers to issue, record, and file subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Compiles project close-out documents.

I met Justin Hamilton and Chris Stern 13 years ago and have now officially worked for this company all 11 years the doors have been open. To some this may be a job, but to me this is my second home. I love working for a company where hard work, dedication, and a desire to learn is recognized and rewarded. I started with HSC as an Administrative Assistant, with no background in construction, supporting the team with simple administrative tasks. In less than three years with HSC, I am now a Project Administrative Manager, working with a team of Project Admins and offering integral support for large scale projects. I very much look forward to continuing to learn and grow my career at HSC.

Upon moving back to Rochester, I knew I wanted to find a job where I could see myself being successful and having the possibility to grow. Hamilton Stern gave me just that and more. I can’t believe how much I’ve learned and the amount of trust and responsibility I’ve already been given in my short time being here.
