Hamilton Stern and the project team revived two historical buildings in downtown Elmira, NY that had been mostly vacant for 50 years. The buildings were completely reconstructed including structural stabilization, brick restoration, all new mechanical systems and utilities, and a combination of salvaged and historically accurate finishes. The project includes 28 affordable apartments, 8 artist studios, and five commercial spaces. The project was funded through a variety of sources including NYSHCR, Historical Tax Credits, Restore NY, and the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
